In 2008, £832.00 was raised from delegates at the Conference Dinner raffle and donated to the MRBA.

The Market Research Benevolent Association (MRBA)

The Market Research Benevolent Association exists to offer help, in the case of need, to persons engaged in market research and related activities and their dependants.

How the association can help

The circumstances in which help may be available are not restricted to the death of a market researcher, and assistance may be provided in a number of ways - by a single payment against an urgent short-term need, by the Association making a regular allowance or granting a loan, or in other than monetary terms.

As examples only of short-term help the Association might help with the cost of:

• a stay in a convalescent home
• removal expenses for a widow forced to move to smaller premises
• keeping a child on at a private school for a crucial term
• a widow's visit overseas to see a child or grandchild
• temporary help in the home for nursing or child-care
• adaptations to a house in a disablement
• the costs of professional psychiatric, specialist medical or legal advice
• The Association is supported by the MRS. It is certainly a very worthwhile cause.

At conference we shall be asking for delegates to support the MRBA.
